Major Recall Of Over 5.1 Million Pounds Of Beef That May Be Tainted With Salmonella

According to a report by CNN, on Tuesday, the US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced a major recall of over 5.1 million pounds of raw beef products that may be tainted with salmonella. The recalled beef was reportedly produced and packaged by JBS Tolleson Inc between July 26th and September 7th, before being distributed nationwide to stores that include Kroger, Cedar River Farms, and Grass Run Farms. CNN reports the total amount of 'non-intact raw beef products' recalled now exceeds over 12 million pounds. As of November 15th, 246 people had already fallen sick in 25 states, and while no deaths had been reported, 56 people required hospitalization.
