According to a report by Reuters, on Monday, US President Donald Trump said that he would hold talks to discuss military developments with his counterparts from Russia and China aimed at ending what he described as an arms race. Trump wrote in a tweet, “I am certain that, at some time in the future, President Xi and I, together with President Putin of Russia, will start talking about a meaningful halt to what has become a major and uncontrollable Arms Race." Reuters reports that in August, Trump signed a 716 billion-dollar defense policy bill authorizing military spending, strengthening rules to limit Chinese investment in US tech companies, and increasing spending on missile defenses.
