Uber's New Rates Cause Concern For Drivers

A new Uber pay structure has been criticized by some drivers. Business Insider reports the ride-sharing company changed the payout rates for drivers in 14 cities last week. Uber has said the changes are designed to provide a more consistent payout and that overall earnings shouldn't change. A spokesperson said, "We're putting more value on time to help create more consistent and dependable earnings, no matter where your next trip takes you." One driver said that he was making about $20 less per night in Phoenix. Some drivers said they planned to find slower routes after the change.
