A SWAT officer in Florida has reportedly been demoted following a controversial photo.

The Florida SWAT officer who was pictured wearing a QAnon conspiracy patch while serving in Vice President Mike Pence's security detail has reportedly been demoted.
According to The Daily Beast, the Broward County Sheriff's Office sergeant was found to have "violated conduct rules by putting the patch on his SWAT uniform." Matt Patten has been issued a written reprimand and removed from the SWAT team.
"Patten will be reassigned to the Department of Law Enforcement," notes WPLG.
According to the Washington Post, the controversy started Friday after multiple SWAT team members greeted Pence at an airport in Florida.
The vice president initially tweeted multiple photos from the exchange, including the photo with Patten, who was subsequently called out online for wearing the patch featuring a capital "Q."
CNN notes, QAnon runs on uncorroborated conspiracy theories, including one that suggests special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation is actually working with President Trump to bring down Democrats and others involved in child sex abuse rings.
Following the criticism of the photo, it was no longer available on Pence's official Twitter account later in the day.
