Footage of one of several tornadoes that swept Illinois on Saturday, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.

This tornado tore through Beardstown, in the southwest. "The tornado formed behind my home," said the filmer. "It started to weaken and disappear but I didn't think it was done yet, so I ran in and grabbed the keys to my ram truck and started heading towards Chandlerville."

There were 12 reported tornadoes in central Illinois the same day, with the severe weather striking the state in the late afternoon and early evening.

While they left a lot of damage, no casualties were reported as a result of the extreme weather.
