Jaguars Face New Dangers From Poaching

A new report from the Wildlife Conservation Society found rising amounts of jaguar poaching deaths, says MNN. In the report, WCS wrote: "Numbers have been declining due to a combination of habitat loss, prey depletion and human-jaguar conflict." There's also reportedly an increasing demand for jaguar teeth, claws, skin and other body parts. There are concerns that a formal trade system is developing in Belize, Honduras, Costa Rica and Panama, with an emphasis on exporting jaguar parts to Asia.
