Melania Trump Defends Red Christmas Trees: 'They Look Fantastic'

Melania Trump on Wednesday defended the use of red Christmas trees.

First lady Melania Trump on Wednesday publicly defended the red Christmas trees she chose as holiday decorations for the White House, reports The Hill. During a town hall held at Lynchburg, Virginia's Liberty University, Trump said: "We are in the twenty-first century and everybody has a different taste. I think they look fantastic."  While many, no doubt, agree with the first lady, the ones who don't have apparently been much more vocal about their red-tree feelings.  The Guardian notes that common associations include the red robes worn by the handmaids in the series 'The Handmaid's Tale' and the gushing blood scene from the movie 'The Shining.'  Their resemblance to car wash brushes has also been noted.
