Cars Abandoned In Saudia Arabia Floods

Dozens of drivers fled for their lives leaving their cars submerged - after thunderstorms caused flash flooding in an underpass. The motorists were waiting in a queue of traffic when the heavens opened Dammam, Saudi Arabia on November 25. Intense rain caused severe flooding on the road with the drains unable to cope with the sudden deluge. Stranded drivers had to run from their vehicles. Footage taken by an onlooker standing on the road above the bride shows how one white van was almost entirely covered and two other cars were completely submerged in the floodwater. Prof. Mansour Almazroui, director of the Jeddah-based King Abdul Aziz University (KAU) Center of Excellence for Climate Change Research, said this month has been the wettest in Saudi's recorded history.
