As you all know, Dhundiraj Govind Phalke, popularly known as Dadasaheb Phalke, is an Indian producer-director-screenwriter, known as the Father of Indian cinema. The first Indian movie Raja Harishchandra, released in 1913, was his own production. Just 18 years earlier, two French brothers, popularly known as Lumières brothers saw film as a novelty and went on to develop the first practical photographic colour process, the Lumière Autochrome. The Lumières held their first private screening of projected motion pictures in 1895. We are all set to mark the 125th year of the 1st ever movie production, BALKANI is holding this short film festival
