BTS album certified gold by Recording Industry Association of America

Global K-pop sensation BTS adds another accolade to their trophy shelf.
The boys received gold certification... from the Recording Industry Association of America , for their compilation album released back in August.

According to Big Hit Entertainment on Thursday, BTS's album "Love Yourself: Answer"... was certified as a 'Gold Multi-Disc Set',... the first time a South Korean artist has received gold certification for an album.
Albums with more than a half-million units sold... are certified gold by the RIAA, and the 'multi-disc set' album category includes... digital and physical album sales, digital downloads and audio and video streaming.
On top of that, BTS's single "MIC Drop" had received platinum certification and the lead track of the album "IDOL" was certified gold. Also, in the digital single category, "MIC Drop", "DNA" and "Fake Love" were each awarded gold as well.
Other artists that have been certified gold for their albums include... Post Malone, Drake, Charlie Puth, with a total of 22 albums including BTS having been awarded gold by the RIAA this year.
Also, BTS has stayed on the Billboard 200 chart for 12 consecutive weeks... with their album currently ranked at number 69.
