Nancy Pelosi's bid for Speaker just became a bit easier.
Ohio congresswoman Marcia Fudge was seen as a candidate for House Speaker.
But, in a surprise turn of events, Fudge endorsed Pelosi for the job, much to the chagrin of 'Never Pelosi' Democrats.
Simultaneously, Pelosi’s office released a statement naming Fudge chairwoman of a House subcommittee overseeing elections in the next Congress.
That appointment would rely on Pelosi’s becoming speaker.
