Hook Shots: Downtown D.C. Blue Cats
Blue catfish are invasive in the Potomac River, which is one reason why you might not hear about them as much as you will the cats in more popular locations just a bit farther south. But the fact is, the Potomac can hold its own when it comes to trophy whiskers, and you can find some heavy-hitters right in the rat race of downtown Washington D.C. To close out the 2018 Hook Shots season, host Joe Cermele and his buddy Mark Modoski plotted a Capitol cat attack. Turns out, dealing with D.C.'s horrid traffic is well worth it for the patriotic experience you get fighting a 30-plus-pound blue within eyeshot of the majestic Washington Monument.
