Evacuation Plan 'Out the Window' When Fire Hit California Town

According to Reuters, officials and residents had to abandon their evacuation plans and improvise new ways to save lives after a “megafire” began to engulf Paradise, California. Emergency personnel and locals realized their escape plans would not work as strong winds sent flames roaring into Paradise at 2 miles per minute. The small mountain town was facing the so-called Camp Fire, ,which has killed at least 71 people, was one of a series of recent “megafires” fueled by drought and erratic winds.
