Three S. Korean firms to pay US$ 236 mil. for involvement in bid-rigging scheme: U.S. Justice Dept.

Three South Korean petroleum and refinery companies have pleaded guilty to criminal charges and agreed to pay a total of 2-hundred-36 million U.S. dollars for their involvement in a bid-rigging scheme to supply U.S. military bases in Korea.
According to the U.S. Department of Justice on Wednesday,… three companies,... SK Energy,... GS Caltex and Hanjin Transportation,... are accused of being involved in a conspiracy to suppress competition during the bidding process for fuel contracts from years 2005 to 2016.
The U.S. Justice Department said.... the settlement is part of a larger investigation involving other companies.
