Poland Celebrates 100 Years Of Independence, Far-Right Groups March
  • 5 years ago

Poland’s leaders celebrated 100 years of national independence on Sunday as more than 200,000 people marched through the capital. The parade included far-right groups and neo-fascist activists from Italy. Reuters reports there is a debate in Poland now about whether the ruling Law and Justice Party encourages groups with roots in fascist and anti-Semitic movements. The party won power in 2015. Warsaw’s city mayor sought to block a far-right march held annually on Nov. 11 but a court overruled her.
