Arizona Senator Jeff Flake has admitted to preferring the tone of former President Obama to that of President Trump.

Arizona Senator Jeff Flake on Friday admitted to preferring the tone of former President Obama to that of President Trump. Both have been on the campaign trail stumping before the midterm elections.
During an appearance on CNN, host Wolf Blitzer asked Flake his opinion of the two men, and the senator said: "I certainly don't like the tone that President Trump has taken with regard to blaming immigrants."
And, after Blitzer noted that he sounds more in line with Obama than Trump, Flake noted: "Well, certainly the tone. I've always felt the tone is better."
However, the Republican Senator added: "I do think that President Trump and Republicans have a strong hand to play with regard to the economy...If I were a candidate right now, that's what I would be running on. Not this fear mongering."
According to an Associated Press report, Trump did boast about the economy in Indiana Friday, telling a crowd: "More Americans are working right now, today, in this country, than have ever worked in this country before."
But that day he also defended a video about illegal immigrants which many have called racist.
Additionally, Trump blamed the Democrats for a large caravan of migrants approaching the U.S. from Central America.
Meanwhile, Obama went to support gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams in Georgia Friday.
He hit back at Trump and the Republicans, saying: "Now in the year 2018, they are telling you the biggest threat to America are some impoverished refugees thousands of miles away. That's not enough to lie about it -- they are sending our brave troops...they are sending them down there for a political stunt when they could be with their families."
