Wesley Snipes Suffers Setback in Legal Battle With the IRS The 'Blade' actor has been ordered to turn over
$9.5 million to the U.S. government. Snipes originally owed $23.5 million in back taxes but was able
to reduce it. He then tried offering $850,000 to settle the debt but was rejected by the IRS. The original debt stems from the actor avoiding tax payments for nearly a decade. After being convicted for tax evasion in 2008, the 56-year-old served three years in jail and was released in 2013.
