3 Main Points Today are:
1. The Holy Spirit is a major part of the Trinity & is vital for the church.
2. Give you the character traits of the Holy Spirit from Scripture.
3. Show you in scripture that there are 2 separate Experiences of the Holy Spirit
A. Born Again - The Spirit within
B. Baptized in the Spirit - The Spirit upon

1 John 5:7
The Trinity of God
Father, Son & Holy Spirit
7 For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.

God is a uniplural noun - We have one God who is made up of the Father, the Son, & the Holy Spirit.

Another example would be Family - We have one family who is made up of the Father, the Mother & the Kids

Many of the scriptures that we look at today, you will see the Trinity of God working together. They each a their own part to play……The Father….The Son…..The Holy Spirit……

The next 2 scriptures, Jesus is telling how vital the Holy Spirit is and the plan that Jesus has for the Holy Spirit to come.

John 14:15-18
Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit
16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.

Jesus was prophesying to them that the Holy Spirit will be in them soon.

Up until this time no one had been born again. Jesus still had to finish what he begun by going to the cross and defeating death, hell & the grave. Once this was complete then the 1st experience of the New Birth could happen.

John 14:25-27
The Trinity Working Together:
Jesus Teaches about the Holy Spirit
26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

From this Scripture - Traits of the Holy Spirit:
1. He’s the gift of Peace
2. He’s our Teacher
3. He brings things back to our remembrance
4. He’s our Comforter
The Greek Translation for Comforter is paraklētos, which means:
5. He’s our Helper
6. He’s our Advocate
7. He’s our Intercessor
8. He’s our Counselor
9. He’s our Strengthener
10. He’s our Standby

John 15:26
Father, Son, & Holy Spirit:
All Three Working Together
26 “But when the Comforter (Holy Spirit) comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me (the Son).

From this Scripture - Traits of the Holy Spirit:
11. He is the Spirit of Truth
12. He testifies of Jesus

John 16:5-8
The Work of the Holy Spirit
7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Comforter will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. 8 And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
