20 States and Major U.S. Cities Urge Trump To Abandon Freeze On Fuel Efficiency

Reuters reported that a group of 20 U.S. states and several major cities urged the Trump administration to abandon a proposal to freeze fuel efficiency standards after 2020. The proposal would also strip California of the ability to impose its own vehicle emissions rules. In a 143-page document, the states called the Trump administration proposal “unlawful” and “reckless." If regulators move forward with the proposal, the states have vowed to sue.
