Amid the ongoing internal discord in the CBI, the government shunted out 2 of the CBI's top bosses on the midnight of 24th October with immediate effect. Meanwhile the opposition has hit out at the government, and a political slugfest has ensued. The government has defended it's move saying that it acted on the recommendations of the CVC and nothing else. The opposition said that the crackdown on CBI was a blatant misuse of power by the govt.
