Firing on... EIGHT! Marina Rolls-Royce Special - hear the V8 Rolls-Royce Marina exhaust rumble and start up at Goodwood!
This Marina Rolls-Royce was the brainchild of none-other than Alan Mann, who crammed the sizable engine into a compact, multi-tubular space frame chassis designed by Malcolm King. Amongst the raft of modifications to the engine, it benefited from dry sump lubrication -- forcing the not-insignificant 3-gallon oil tank to be located besides the driver's legs. The Marina Rolls-Royce debuted at Goodwood in 1963 so it looked right at home in the Members' Meeting race paddocks -- despite the fact this spectacular racer is also road-registered!
