According to CNN, a caravan of Central American migrants reached the border between Mexico and Guatemala.
Mexican officials said migrants have sought refuge status as asylum seekers at the border.
Officials added they will process migrants as they cross the border.
The caravan is estimated to have 4,000 people, many of whom are fleeing their native countries of Honduras and Guatemala.
