Trump went on to note that the US is "awaiting the results of about three different investigations, so we should be able to get to the bottom very soon."
He also stated that the consequences would have to be "very severe - it's bad, bad stuff." Those comments came after Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said earlier in the day that he had requested that Saudi Arabia be given "a few more days" to conduct its inquiry into what happened to the journalist. Khashoggi disappeared on October 2. He was last seen walking into the Saudi Arabian consulate in Turkey.
