EMPOWERING THROUGH EDUCATION: NEKQADAM GADO MUHAMMAD

2,213 learners from the Satellite Learning Center (SLC) Darwaz in Afghanistan have enrolled in high quality entry and intermediate level courses in applied English and Information Technology since the SLC began operations. The SLC Darwaz was established by the University of Central Asia’s (UCA) School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPCE) in cooperation with Teacher Training College of Darwaz, Afghanistan in 2014.

It is supported by the Multi Input Area Development Global Development Alliance (MIAD GDA) - an alliance between the Aga Khan Foundation and the United States Agency for International Development. The aim of the alliance is to support long-term stability and growth in Afghanistan’s Badakhshan region through improved quality of life and socio-economic development of the residents. To date, SLC Darwaz has enrolled more than 796 unique learners where 28% are females.
