According to Business Insider, research suggests that roughly 1 in 20 pregnant women are suffering from an eating disorder. During pregnancy, a woman's body changes immensely. For those who have pre-existing eating disorders, these changes can spark a huge amount of stress. Many eating disorder patients improve during pregnancy, but some don't. In fact, pregnancy can even cause a relapse for someone who has previously achieved recovery.
