A Florida woman using NOAA's interactive satellite map on Saturday discovered a post-Hurricane Michael "HELP" message spelled out in logs on her relatives' lawn.  Amber Gee told ABC News that she'd assumed her aunt and uncle had, like her grandmother, evacuated their home near Panama City in the days leading up to the storm's landfall.  Upon learning that they apparently had not, she contacted local authorities, notes USA Today. Rescue workers cut through the downed trees blocking the home and were able to get the people inside to safety.
Hurricane Michael's death toll was at eighteen as of Sunday, notes UPI. That number is expected to increase as search, rescue, and clean-up efforts continue.
