Amid political controversy in India, the first made-for-India Rafale fighter jet is all set to take off on its inaugural flight in France by the end of this month. Although it was earlier scheduled to take off for October 14th but now has been shifted to the month end due to unspecified reasons. This comes after Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's visit to France, where she also visited the Dassault manufacturing facility, where the Rafale jets to be supplied to India is being manufactured. Recently, Congress President Rahul Gandhi visited Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd in Bengluru and interacted with some working and retired employees of the state-run aerospace and defence company in the context of the defence behemoth not getting offset contract from the Rafale fighter deal.
