President Trump on Thursday lashed out at Eric Holder.

President Trump on Thursday lashed out at former Attorney General Eric Holder for saying about the Republicans, "When they go low, we kick 'em. That's what this new Democratic Party is about."  Trump, in a phone interview with 'Fox & Friends,' stated that Holder "better be careful what he's wishing for, that I can tell you...That's a disgusting statement for him to make. For him to make a statement like that is a very dangerous statement. You know, they talk about us. We are exactly opposite." Trump went on to talk about his rallies, which he described as "calm" then commented, "we don't have problems at our rallies."  Notably, in the days following Holder's Sunday remark, Hillary Clinton told CNN, "You cannot be civil with a political party that wants to destroy what you stand for, what you care about…the only thing that the Republicans seem to recognize and respect is strength."  Republicans have certainly taken note of Democrats' more forceful calls to action and on a number of occasions, have likened the party to an out-of-control mob, according to the Washington Post. It's unclear if Democrats will continue along that path.  As the Post notes: "Democrats as a party have struggled with just how much to adopt the kind of tactics employed by President Trump and Republicans…Trump has regularly alluded to and even egged on potential violence at his rallies and encouraged crowds to chant that his political opponents should be 'locked up.'"
