First lady Melania Trump recently said that those who make accusations of sexual misconduct need to "show the evidence."  In an interview with ABC News conducted last week, scheduled to air on Friday, and previewed on Wednesday's 'Good Morning America,' she was asked if she thinks the high-profile men who have been accused of sexual harassment and/or assault were treated unfairly. Melania Trump replied, "We need to have really hard evidence that, if you are [accusing] of something, show the evidence."  In response to a question about whether or not she "stood with women," the first lady replied, "I do stand with women. But we need to show the evidence. You cannot just say to somebody, I was sexually assaulted, or you did that to me, because sometimes the media goes too far. And the way they portray some stories, it's not correct. It's not right."  While in the released clip, Melania Trump was not specifically asked about the accusations against now-Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, the interview was conducted in the midst of the turmoil surrounding his confirmation.  Kavanaugh faced multiple accusations of sexual assault and the sworn testimony of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, who said that, while in high school, he pinned her down on a bed and covered her mouth so she couldn't scream, notes the New York Times. He was confirmed in a 50-48 Senate vote on Saturday.
