President Trump, in a Wednesday op-ed published by USA Today, slammed "Medicare for All," but in doing so omitted some of the plan's proposed benefits.  In the piece, Trump asserts: "Throughout the year, we have seen Democrats across the country uniting around a new legislative proposal that would end Medicare as we know it and take away benefits that seniors have paid for their entire lives."
"In practice, the Democratic Party's so-called Medicare for All would really be Medicare for None. Under the Democrats' plan, today's Medicare would be forced to die," Trump continues. However, ABC News notes, the plan being proposed by a number of Democrats, including Senator Bernie Sanders, will offer improved benefits for seniors.  The news outlet adds that others are outlining a plan that "would allow people to buy into a new government system modeled on Medicare, moving toward the goal of coverage for all while leaving private insurance in place."  The president's op-ed comes as midterm races loom large.  His approach of attacking Democrats' proposed healthcare plans is expected to be adopted by the Republican National Committee and a bevy of Republican groups.
