Trump Tells Law Enforcement Officials: 'You Don't Hear' From Media But 'People Of Our Country Love You'

President Trump on Monday took another jab at the media.

President Trump on Monday told law enforcement officials that, even though the media doesn't talk about it, people love them.  During a speech at the International Association of Chiefs of Police conference in Orlando, Trump commented: "I have to say this, I don't think you understand one thing, how much our country loves you and the job you do."
"You don't hear it from them," he said while pointing at reporters covering the event.  He continued, "you don't hear it from them," again pointing, and soon after stated, "you don't hear it from the media, but I can tell you I know the feeling and these people, the people of our country love you, so I just want you to know it direct." Trump has made his dislike and distrust of the bulk of the nation's media outlets well known.  In myriad tweets, he refers to some of the country's most enduring and highly-regarded news publications and broadcasters as the "Fake News Media," and often accuses them of reporting fabricated stories based on the accounts of phony, "anonymous sources."
