Calls For Independence At Catalonia's Human Tower Competition
  • 6 years ago
42 teams of 'castellers' gathered on October 7 in Spain's northeastern city of Tarragona in Catalonia, to compete in the city's human tower building competition amid calls for Catalan independence by participants and spectators. The bi-annual competition was held for the first time since the failed Catalan independence referendum of 2017 which was banned by Spain's court and the government because it was deemed unconstitutional.
