Honda Buys Into GM Self-Driving Unit

According to Reuters, Honda Motor Co. has committed to investing $2 billion over 12 years in General Motors Cruise autonomous vehicle unit. The announcement comes after the Japanese automaker paid $750 million for a stake in the self-driving car project. Cruise Chief Executive Kyle Vogt said in a statement; “With the backing of General Motors, SoftBank and now Honda, Cruise is deeply resourced to accomplish our mission to safely deploy autonomous technology across the globe".
