Touchdown! Crowd goes wild as deer sprints across football field during touchdown play

This was the moment a deer invaded a high school football pitch in America and made the crowd go wild while the game was still going on last Friday (October 28).

Footage shot in Washington D.C. shows the disoriented animal initially surveying the situation from afar then racing across the field.

The crowd can be heard shouting to the wild creature in excitement as the doe reaches the end of the pitch shortly followed by the players.

The players continue with the game and seconds later Sean Toomey-Stout, 17, scores a touchdown as the deer runs off into the distance.
