Students protest outside the University of Amsterdam, occupying the PC Hoofthuis building in order to protest the lack of diversity at the institution, as well as governmental cuts to higher education and workloads.

Mayor of Amsterdam Femke Halsema turns up to try and reason with the students offering them an alternative venue to air their grievances to university management.

Riot police were later deployed to clear the building.
