Wild Asian elephants rescue calf washed away in river
  • 6 years ago
The power of family was on display as drone video captured three wild Asian elephants rescuing a calf washed away in a river in southwestern China. The heartwarming moment, filmed by the monitoring team in Pu’er City in Yunnan Province on September 11, shows a baby elephant being washed away when trying to cross the river. The mother elephant sees it first and chases after it, followed by two other adult elephants. They manage to save the calf by using their bodies to stop it drifting away, and together push it to the side of the river. Finally, the calf was set back on shore safely.
