River floods, turns into massive waterfall after heavy downpour drowns Tri-state
  • 6 years ago
A river in southeastern Connecticut was severely flooded on Wednesday, September 26, following a bout of heavy rain the day before.

This video, filmed by William Phoenix, shows the strong currents of the swollen Yantic River in Norwich, Connecticut, resembling that of a raging waterfall.

The rains prompted a slew of dramatic rescues and school delays across parts of Connecticut, New Jersey and New York as water levels rose. In Fairview, New Jersey, 100 people were evacuated to safety on Tuesday after floodwaters surrounded the area.

Several counties in the Tri-state remained under weather warnings on Wednesday night.
