Protesters 'Ambush' Ted Cruz at Washington Restaurant, Forcing Him to Leave

Protesters stormed a restaurant in Washington, where Republican Senator Ted Cruz was dining with his wife on Monday, September 24, calling on him to withdraw support for Donald Trump’s embattled Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.These videos of the incident were shared on Twitter by protest group Smash Racism DC. The protesters could be heard chanting; “We believe survivors” in reference to allegations from two women about Judge Kavanaugh’s alleged sexual misconduct when he was a teenager. Cruz and his wife Heidi left upmarket Italian restaurant Fiola minutes later, after which the protesters were ejected by restaurant staff, the Washington Examiner reported.In an interview with FOX News on Monday, Kavanaugh continued to deny all allegations of sexual assault against him, adding that he was a virgin throughout high school and “for many years thereafter”, TIME magazine reported. He has been scheduled to testify to the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday, September 27, in response to claims that he sexually assaulted Palo Alto University professor Christine Blasey Ford while they were high school students, USA Today reported.
