President Moon confirms Kim Jong-un's determination to denuclearize while meeting with UN chief

Now, looking at further developments from New York... after meeting one-on-one with his U.S. counterpart, President Moon Jae-in also had a sit down with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.
The two exchanged views on pressing global issues as well as matters regarding the Korean Peninsula.

The meeting was the fourth between President Moon and Secretary General Guterres. It can be seen as an occasion that secured the Secretary General's continuous support for the establishment of lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula and its complete denuclearization. It also strengthens cooperation between South Korea and the UN.

According to the Blue House, President Moon told Guterres he was able to confirm Kim Jong-un's determination for denuclearization during his three-day visit and that he thinks the declaration to officially end the Korean War is one way to accelerate the denuclearization process.
Guterres commended President Moon for his efforts and pledged to further strengthen cooperation with the South Korean government.
