Hong Kong issues unprecedented ban on Andy Chan’s separatist National Party

The Hong Kong government has banned a separatist political party on grounds of national security. It’s the first time a political party has been banned since Hong Kong reverted to Chinese rule in 1997. The decision by Secretary for Security John Lee Ka-chiu came 10 days after the Hong Kong National Party submitted its case for not being outlawed.
