Fuel Price Hike: Despite protests, fuel price soars; will government cut excise duty now?

Fuel prices continue to rise. Petrol prices have climbed a fresh high at Rs.82.44 per litre & diesel at Rs.73.87 per litre, in Delhi. While in Mumbai, petrol is nearing Rs 90, currently it costs Rs.89.80 per litre & diesel is priced at Rs.78.42 per litre. There is no relief to common man even after opposition called a Bharat Bandh over the issue. With the relentless hike in prices, the govt is being increasingly criticised for not cutting excise duty on the heavily taxed petrol and diesel.
