Somendra Nath Mitra to replace Chowdhury as West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee President

In a shocking move, one of the prominent faces of Congress, MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has removed as West Bengal Pradesh congress committee president. Chowdhury will be replaced by Somendra Nath Mitra. Chowdhury had openly criticised the move by the central leadership, claiming that he was not even informed about the decision by the central leadership. This latest move by congress gains significance as it strengthens the chances of it joining hands with TMC in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. Meanwhile it will also be interesting to see if now Chowdhury will be inclined to join BJP as his nest political move.
