Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein mulled using the 25th Amendment to remove President Trump from power.
Business Insider reports Rosenstein also considered wearing a wire to record his conversations with Trump.
Rosenstein reportedly first raised these ideas just after Trump had fired then-FBI Director James Comey.
It was also after Trump had revealed classified intelligence to Russian officials in an Oval Office meeting.
Rosenstein fully denied the allegations in a statement to The New York Times.
