Kerala nun rape case: Vatican relieves Franco Mulakkal from diocese duties, protests continue

The Vatican relieved Kerala nun rape accused Franco Mulakkal of his pastoral duties in Diocese of Jalandhar today. He had earlier written to Pope Francis demanding to step aside of responsibilities to fight the case. Protests demanding action against Franco Mulakkal continued in Kochi. Protestors brought a coffin in Kochi as a mark of protest. Mulakkal is accused of raping a nun 13 times between 2014- 2016. He has denied allegations leveled against him. He appeared before a Special Investigation Team (SIT) team of the Kerala police for the second day on Thursday.
