Union Cabinet passes Triple Talaq ordinance; law minister slams opposition, why is Sonia silent?

In a major win for the Muslim Women across the country, the Union Cabinet has approved the ordinance on triple talaq bill. Now the bill will be presented before the president for approval. The bill makes the pronouncement of Talaq-E-Biddat "void and illegal." According to clause 3 of the bill, this bill follows the Supreme Court judgment on August 22, 2017 in the case of Shayara Bano vs. Union of India.
