Major thunderstorms and tornadoes continued to plague North Carolina following Hurricane Florence's landfall late last week.

This video, filmed by Michelle Bir in Fayetteville, shows a stormy sky as thunder struck through the night of Monday, September 18.

Across the Carolinas, several river gauges have reached a "major" flood stage, the National Weather Service said, with authorities issuing evacuation orders for residents within the area.

At least 35 people have died in storm-related incidents, and more than 343,000 people are still without power in North Carolina.
