Rivers and roads flood after Hurricane Florence struck North Carolina over the weekend.

The Cape Fear River and Little River in Harnett County both saw rising waters in the wake of Hurricane Florence.

Officials warned Monday that they could become cut off from the surrounding areas. “Portions of the county could, for lack of a better term, become an island,” Brian Haney, assistant county manager, told the Fayetteville Observer.

He encouraged people to stay at home in the wake of Hurricane Florence.
