Rescuers Search for Miners Missing in Deadly Philippines Landslide

Rescuers on Monday, Septembers 17, continued to search for survivors from a landslide that swept through a village in the northern Philippines province of Benguet during Typhoon Mangkhut on September 15.The Philippines Star reported 43 people were killed and 30 were missing after a mountainside collapsed onto a building sheltering a group of miners in Ucab village near Itogon city. At least 64 people were killed when Typhoon Mangkhut, which is known as Typhoon Ompong in the Philippines, slammed into the north of Luzon island before sweeping towards Hong Kong and southern China, according to the AP.
