2018 Inter-Korean Summit Pyeongyang D-1: Latest from Main Press Centerd
  • 6 years ago
And we take things to the main press center for the 2018 Inter-Korean Summit Pyeongyang,... set up at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza, and that's where we have our Blue House correspondent Shin Se-min standing by.
Se-min,.. the venue opened its doors for the press on Sunday,... and we hear it's already a hive of activity....

Yes-- Mark the making of the third summit between the leaders of the two Koreas was done in such a short amount of time,... and perhaps that's why many of us here at the press center are still unaware of the full details of the summit-- which President Moon will be flying to tomorrow.
But in about an hour-- we will have somewhat of a clearer picture as to what the summit will be like.
The head of the summit preparatory committee, Presidential Chief of Staff Im Jong-seok, will be briefing us on the detailed schedule of President Moon's three-day stay in Pyeongyang.
This week's summit will be the first time in over a decade that leaders of the Koreas will hold a meeting in the North Korean capital,... and for the first time,... parts of the Pyeongyang summit will be broadcast live around the world.
So it's no exaggeration to say that the anticipation is high, as many are looking to see how the summit this week will be different from the ones we've previously seen.

Okay the schedule is coming up soon-- and already the advance team is up in the North to ensure the summit runs smoothly. Have we heard anything from them yet?

We last heard from them late Sunday afternoon,...
A team of around 90 officials arrived in Pyeongyang at around 3 PM,.. and have confirmed that the fax transmissions which will be used to communicate with officials here in the South are up and running well.
Though we don't know their detailed schedule for today,... it is widely assumed that the team will be putting the final touches on the upcoming summit, which is now less than a day away.
The team now in the North is made up of officials in charge of media coverage, including live broadcast technicians, protocol and security staff.
