EMPOWERING THROUGH EDUCATION: FAWZIYAH AMIRSHO

Almost 3,000 learners from the Satellite Learning Center (SLC) Shughnan in Afghanistan have enrolled in high quality entry and intermediate level courses in applied English and Information Technology since 2014. The SLC Shughnan was established by the University of Central Asia’s (UCA) School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPCE) in cooperation with Teacher Training College of Shughnan, Afghanistan in 2010.

It is supported by the Multi Input Area Development Global Development Alliance (MIAD GDA) - an alliance between the Aga Khan Foundation and the United States Agency for International Development. The aim of the alliance is to support long-term stability and growth in Afghanistan’s Badakhshan region through improved quality of life and socio-economic development of the residents. To date, SLC Shughnan has enrolled more than 1,043 unique learners where 44% are females.
